Leave the leaves! And other nature-wise practices for autumn.

Thursday, September 30, 2021 -
6:30pm to 7:30pm

Let’s rethink the annual autumn ritual of removing leaves, planting lawns, and hauling debris to the local transfer station. In this one-hour talk, we'll talk about leaves—what they are, their role in nature, and what they can do for us. We'll also discuss other forms of winter mulch. Other topics include leaf cleanup, how leaves can help soil, and support wildlife.

She’ll also explore the latest equipment for fall clean-ups, the quiet, high-powered electric leafblowers, trimmers, mowers, clippers.

This online talk follows Site Preparation for Landscape Transformation, which will be offered on Wednesday, September 29, the day before. Attend both talks, and you’ll be well prepared for fall, as well as spring 2022.
