Low-Impact Site Preparation for New Meadows and Groundcovers

Date:
Saturday, May 21, 2016 -
1:00pm to 2:00pm

The best way to start any new planting is by clearing old vegetation and weeds. Are we doomed to toxic chemical controls? Not necessarily.

This one-hour explores low-impact site preparation techniques. Landscape designer Kathy Connolly will outline some methods, tools, and, most importantly, the time needed for effective clearing. Please note: This session will not address phragmites or Japanese knotweed. This workshop follows a morning session, Grow Your Own Meadow, which covers meadow ecology, how to establish and encourage a meadow, and other wildscaping topics.

Both sessions are sponsored by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association at 16 Meriden Road, Middlefield/Rockfall, CT.
