Trails Day Walk in Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Essex, CT

Connecticut Trails Day is coming up on Saturday, June 1. I'll be leading a walk with Jessica Penfield of Wild Birds Unlimited (Old Saybrook, CT). Please join us at The Preserve State Forest: 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., for a moderate-to-brisk walk over rolling, rocky trails. (Walking sticks are helpful.) We'll mostly walk, but will make a few stops to explore some special features of The Preserve.

Special treat: At the end of the walk, a $25 gift card to Wild Birds Unlimited of Old Saybrook will be drawn for a prize. Other prizes include a hand-carved walking stick and a book provided by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association.

 

Arrive by 8 a.m. We will leave the parking lot promptly at 8:10. The lot is at 1278 Essex Road in Westbrook. Bring water and insect protection, and wear boots. Ages 12 and older. No dogs, please. Heavy rain may cancel. Check the Old Saybrook Parks & Rec website that morning for cancellation/rescheduling.
