Lots of people today think about creating a meadow in home or community landscapes. But what is a meadow? And why are the instructions so confusing? This presentation aims to demystify meadows, large or small. We'll discuss the definition of a meadow (which may surprise), meadow types, the role of native plant species, and steps you can take right now to start planting a new meadow or encourage an existing meadow to grow. We'll also discuss the challenges of integrating a meadow into more conventional landscape settings. Also on the agenda: Sources of seed and plant supply, helpful books, and websites. Admission $15.
