5 Ways to Cover Ground and Give the Lawnmower a Rest

Grassy lawns are the single most popular groundcover, but they are not always the best choice or the easiest to maintain. In this talk, we look at alternative strategies for covering every inch of ground with durable groundcovers. Options include not only low-growing flowering perennials, but native ornamental grasses, low-mow lawn mixes, sedum, ferns, moss, and more. We'll touch on the topic of meadows as a way to cover ground and look at some new developments in groundcovers.
